CEBU: EXPLORE OLD DOWNTOWN

I will give you a glimpse of the tourist spots in old downtown. These places are just walking distance from each other so there is no need to ride a taxi or jeep. ;)

1.) Magellan’s Cross

Located inside a small chapel just outside the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño is the cross that famed explorer Ferdinand Magellan brought to Cebu. It is one of the most popular tourist spot in the city.

2. Basilica Minore del Santo Niño

This church houses the oldest Catholic relic in the Philippines, the Sto. Niño. Often you would find long lines of people wanting to see the Sto. Niño.

There are several statues found in the garden area.

3. Fort San Pedro

About a block away is Fort San Pedro. It is known as the oldest and smallest fort in the country.

If ever you have been to Fort Santiago, you can spot some similarities with Fort San Pedro. It is like a mini version of it. :) You can also catch a glimpse of Malacañang Sa Sugbu (Malacañang of the South) from Fort San Pedro.
