The trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen was an adventure as the whole tour group had to commute by MRT up to the last station, Lo Wu.
After being cleared by the immigration, we were finally in Shenzhen. But before we can board our bus we had to take on one big hurdle: go down the steep stairs! It was a good thing that my cousin, Arvi, helped me carry my heavy luggage.
We first went to a jade shop. The prices of the jewelries there were much cheaper than in HK. Then we also went to a silk shop where we saw some nice cheongsam outfits.
After that was picture taking time at the entrance of Windows of the World.
The next stop was Macau Ban Zhang Tang Bakery. It was nice because there were food samples laid out for us to try.
Part of our tour package was free lunch.
My mom and I were supposed to go to Windows of the World afterwards. Unfortunately, tickets were sold out because it was Children’s Day. So we just decided to join the shopping tour that afternoon.
The place is like Divisoria where you can find some nice bargains. I was even able to haggle a shirt from 85yuan to 35yuan. ;)
After shopping, we finally had the chance to go and rest in our hotel, Gorgeous Fad.
Though our room in Gorgeous Fad is much better and bigger than our room in Dorsett Far East Hotel in HK, I still prefer the latter. The location of Dorsett was near to malls and food establishments while Gorgeous Fad was quite a walk. My mom and I got lost trying to find the nearest Mcdonalds. Because of that, I caught a cold. :(
